Check Up: A dashboard for energy- autonomous sensors

The challenge
Check Up’s sensors run on renewable energy or energy harvesting and talk over LoRa, sending air quality, temperature and humidity readings on a minimal power budget. They needed a platform to collect those readings from large, distributed installations and put them in front of very different people, securely.

LoRa
Long-range, low-power radio from sensor to server
4
Access roles, each with its own permissions
What we built
We developed the backend architecture, the APIs and the LoRa integration for ultra-low-power devices, behind a platform with:
- A browser dashboard showing real-time values and time series side by side.
- An interactive map that places every device, for an instant view of the whole installation.
- Threshold alerts that notify people automatically when a reading goes out of range.
- Four access roles (administrators, system integrators, distributors and end customers), each with its own permissions.

The result
An end-to-end system, from sensor to LoRa to server to dashboard, that stays fast on large, distributed deployments, including installations where the sensors have no mains power at all.
About the client
Check Up is based in the province of Treviso. It helps companies design and industrialize solutions that improve production efficiency and data collection.
